Acquired Brain Injury Day 21

A good day, after two days of setbacks, I was getting a bit depressed, but today was a good day. Colleen was in better spirits, and we were able to go out for a coffee, (only a short outing) with a nurse who oversaw us. We had great talks about life, and following rules and it was fun.

Our grandson and his cousins although they did not know the extent of the injuries wanted to make Colleen feel better, so Ryder (our grandson) had me record him singing some of his favourite songs for his Granny and his cousin Amber drew some pictures to give to Colleen to "cheer her up". Colleen seemed to appreciate the gifts. She also appeared to be getting some of her short-term memory back.

It was a pleasant day and at the end of the day, the nurses told me that Colleen would be transferred to the Caulfield  Acquired Brain Injury Ward tomorrow. The time of the move was not certain, because they were transferring her by Ambulance it could be in the morning or it could be in the afternoon. They suggested I not come into the hospital but by phone to find out when she would be transferred.

Good News, with the transfer we are closer to being able to get home. I slept well.
