The road less travelled...

Robert Frost, I could imagine him standing at the edge of a forest, thinking about how he wanted to reach the other side. As I watch as he pondered his path forward, I saw him think, would he walk along a straight line, going directly through the forest? Or, could he imagine a path that wandered and meandered in every conceivable direction, around rocks, between evergreens and deciduous trees, through meadows, along a stream. Could he himself, feeding the deer, the rabbits, and conversing with the owls, or roasting marshmallows?

I think he saw a path that wandered in every possible direction because this is how things are in a forest. Our paths in life are never straight, and many times we have to choose do we take the path directly to where we want to go, or do we wander through the forest and still get to the same path. For those that are in the process of deciding which path to take, a read of Robert Frost poem may help.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

A subtle tip

I know it is hard to start something new, or to meet someone new, or to start a new hobby, or to quit a bad habit. The gurus' out there on the Net, on TV or Radio, or on their Podcasts or Youtube channels make us think it is easy. Well, it may be if you follow my subtle tip, (to be kept strictly confidential). The act of not starting is a sign that you are resistance to moving ahead with the new. So here is how to beat resistance:

First, imagine once you start the project, or break the ice, someone else will be finishing for you.

Second, when you start, tell yourself that whatever you do, however, it turns out, however much you like or dislike your progress, the entire world will be going crazy over your extraordinary talent.

Third, tell yourself that people will be standing in line to catch a glimpse of you, writing books about your childhood, and asking their social media friends how come you're so totally cool.

Dreams

Daydreaming is fun and can be productive. Dreams can turn into reality, all it takes is a commitment to imagine your dreams becoming alive to the extent that you can make them alive. Make the images you hold in your dreams come alive with:
Every acquisition you purchase.
Every choice you make.
Every hello and goodbye you utter.
Every responsibility you take on.
Every discussion you enter into.
Every daybreak, midday, and night.
And never, ever, ever glance backward.

Reframe every idea, expression, and action from the view of the character you've always imagined you'd be if your life was already as you've always dreamed it would be.

Let go of yesterday's dreams and be reborn to the truth of your new dream.

Ever been tested?

I am not a believer in angels or other supernatural beings that other believe influence our lives. I have relatives and friends who do and they have many times pointed out to me that angels can and do walk among us. When I asked for proof, they refer me to the Bible. It is interesting that in the Bible, there are a few times when men and angels appear to have interacted. So I did some research on this topic and found the following from www.gotquestions.org

In the Bible angels appear to people in unpredictable and various ways. From a casual reading of Scripture, a person might get the idea that angelic appearances were somewhat common, but that is not the case. There is an increasing interest in angels today, and there are many reports of angelic appearances. Angels are part of almost every religion and generally seem to have the same role of messenger. In order to determine whether angels appear today, we must first get a biblical view of their ancient appearances.

The first appearance of angels in the Bible is in Genesis 3:24 when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden. God placed cherubim to block the entrance with a flaming sword. The next angelic appearance is in Genesis 16:7, about 1,900 years later. Hagar, the Egyptian servant who bore Ishmael to Abraham, was instructed by an angel to return and submit to her mistress, Sarai. Abraham was visited by God and two angels in Genesis 18:2 when God informed him of the impending destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The same two angels visited Lot and instructed him to escape the city with his family before it was destroyed (Genesis 19:1-11). The angels in this case also displayed supernatural power by blinding the wicked men who were threatening Lot.

I also found these references to angels in the Bible:
Hebrews 13:2 “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares"

Acts 5:17-21 “But the high priest rose up, and all who were with him (that is, the party of the Sadducees), and filled with jealousy they arrested the apostles and put them in the public prison.  But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, “Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this Life.”  And when they heard this, they entered the temple at daybreak and began to teach.

So for those of you who believe in angels or other supernatural beings, remember that angels, choose skillfully disguise themselves and are well concealed from us and in their disquises, they, just want to help you get past judging by their looks.

These angels are not good looking, not much fun, and you would never guess they are angels come to test you. Always treat everyone the way you want to be treated, because the person you are mistreating, making fun of or bullying could be an angel. Every soul is beautiful.
