There is more than one right answer

I don't know about you but I get very suspicious of those who tell me there is one right way to do something. When I was younger I might have been more accepting of the idea of one right path. In fact, I at one time was convinced I had the right answer to issues around my work. Lucky for me I grew into a position where I was lucky enough to implement my "right plan". I was also very lucky to have people around me who agreed with me that the path was right, but there were also many parallel paths that worked and all of the paths took as ultimately to the same end. I also was able to listen and grew because of that experience.

There's always more than one right answer, path, possibility, nuance, or flavor - so insist upon none.

Insisting on details always limits you, I know this from experience, and I now look at the end result and focus on the big picture. Details are important, but the exact details may have to change so we can adjust, and enjoy the ride. Life is good. So I will have some more Purple Moonbeam Chocolate, please

The time to start is now

Remember long, long ago, when you were considering living the "My Potential Adventures," among an infinite array of other choices, how you suddenly thought to yourself, "How much trouble could I get into, anyway?"

Do you?

Do you remember your reply?

You said it would depend on a good number of factors, not the least of which would include climate change, geological pressures, celestial energy vortices, the star you're born under, political friction on the street, worthiness, luck, fate, and your mood

At which point, you burst out laughing so hard you almost needed stitches.

Time to start the adventure, while you are still able to laugh.

Colour

Tell me, what advice would you give a child who came to you asking what their favorite color should be?

To follow their heart? That no color is right or wrong? That if they wanted to, they could always change their mind later, any number of times? That their happiness with their choice is all that matters? Not to give it too much importance? That they don't have to decide at all? That you approve no matter what they choose?

Now, what if they protested because they had heard from friends that there was a special color assigned to them at birth; their soul-color. They felt that a numerology reading might shed some light on their confusion. They wanted confirmation of their choices through a zodiac chart, tea leaves, and an Ouija board. And they asked if hiring a coach, therapist, or guru would be a good idea.

Yep, this is what I hear almost every day, just not so much for colors...

Sorry to lay this on you. I'm just fishing around for some new answers to the bazillion questions I get each week about careers, loves, and destinies - which to me, from here, are kind of like... crayons.

To me, it is crazy that people still want others to give them the answers when like the favorite crayon it could change every day and no one else would notice or care.

Ewhhhh, nice magenta!(today my favorite color, yesterday my favorite color was blue, did anyone notice or care?)

Acts of kindness

Not that you haven't figured this out, but the person who can point to their own acts of kindness, no matter how plentiful, is not necessarily a kind person; who can point to their own acts of thoughtfulness, no matter how plentiful, is not necessarily thoughtful; who can point to their own acts of generosity, no matter how plentiful, is not necessarily generous... and so on.

Yeah, they still rock. As do you.
