Golden Girl Finance

This is a great resource for women of all ages. So on this American Independence day, I  recommend this site to all women who want to take the first steps to financial independence.

A new golden standard

Golden Girl Finance was born out of the notion that too many smart women let their financial situation be ignored, swept under the rug, or dictated by others. And we're talking about capable women…who have Masters degrees, manage a household of kids, run their own businesses, volunteer for the PTA, shovel the driveway, pump their own gas, and all in all, are your regular supergirl / supermom / superwife / superwoman.

As an investment industry veteran of nearly 20 years, Susan Misner, co-founder of Golden Girl Finance, was, frankly, tired of seeing women remain fearful in the face of the economy, too intimidated to speak up, educate themselves, and ask the questions they yearn to have answered (but are often too busy to ask).

These women needed to be reached from a female perspective. One that understands their lingo, would never undervalue their input, and assures them that all questions are valid and worthy of a legitimate response.

At the same time, Laura McDonald was this woman. The financially clueless one that is. A successful entrepreneur, communications consultant and mother of three girls, she was smart, educated, and very happy to leave the financial planning up to hubby. She knew a new voice was needed to engage women just like her.

And so GoldenGirlFinance.com was born with the driving mission to inspire, motivate, engage and support women into taking control of their financial lives and futures. To connect women, to mentor them, and certainly to never underestimate them. And to make it all fun and, dare we say, fashionable. Absolute style backed by absolute quality and top notch content and expertise.

  1. I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own weblog
and was wondering what all is needed to get set up? I'm
assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I'm not very internet savvy so I'm not 100% certain. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Appreciate it

  2. Hi Donovan, starting a weblog is not expensive, there are a number of free services that will host your blog, I like blogger, as it is free, and very open to customization. I would recommend you start with this article http://sixrevisions.com/tools/top-free-online-blogging/ to get some ideas on where you want to host. The hardest part of blogging is coming up with ideas to write about and finding the time and energy to write. Good luck and let me know if you do start
