Great Ideas for Outdoor Activities

32 Ways to Keep the Kids Occupied

21. Camping Out:
One thing kids never tire of is camping out somewhere. The easiest and cheapest place for that is in your own back yard or back garden. You can buy tents pretty cheap these days, and you don’t need something huge. If you don’t want to go to the expense of buying a tent, you can always make your own “temporary tent” by using a few sticks, sheets and tarpaulin.

Give the kids lots of snacks, a few flashlights and some sleeping bags. Warn the neighbours that there could be some noise. (If MY kids are anything to go by, there WILL be noise). Please make sure that don’t lock ALL of your doors when you go to bed, as even though the kids may seem ready to “camp out” they might possibly get a bit wary late at night when the rest of the gang is asleep or it might even get a bit chilly and then it’s good for the kids to be able to snuggle up in real beds.

22. Toy Sail Boats:

This one is a really old pastime, but tons of fun. Get a plastic bottle and cut it in half lengthways. Make the sail from a wooden Kebab stick and some paper.

There are tons of other household items that can be used, so look around and use your imagination.

Make sure you hang some weight to the bottom of the boat to make sure it doesn’t keel over. A lollypop stick with some oil based play dough will work for a short while. (Practice in the kitchen sink to see what works best for you.)
Once the boats are ready, walk to your nearest pond or stream, or even fill up the bathtub and go sailing. Hours of fun for free

Use Your Curiosity to find happiness

One thing that is very important in life is curiosity because it is the base of passion.  There are many ways you can use curiosity to help you determine what your true passion is so you can use it to be successful here are a few.

Make Your Mind Active
Curiosity helps create an active mind.  When someone is curious they always ask questions and seek the answers.  Their curiosity causes their mind to be active most of the time.  When you are curious and working your brain you are making your mind  stronger.  Your brain is like a big muscle and by working it you are making it much stronger.

Be Open to New Ideas
Curiosity also allows you to see how things can be though different lenses.  When you are set in one way of thinking, things are limited because your mind is not willing to accept a different solution. If you don’t see your life becoming any more successful than it already is then you won’t be.  If you can open your eyes to new ideas about how things can be then you are more willing to try them.

The great thing about curiosity is that when ideas do come to your mind they will be recognized and not ignored.  When you are not curious you miss out on important ideas because you haven’t prepared your mind to be open to them.

This also means you must be open to suggestion.  Many people offer input that you might not want to hear.  This input could have been the one thing that was what you needed to do in your life.  Be open to suggestion by allowing yourself to ask more questions and seek different answers.

Be Open to New Possibilities
When your mind is open to new suggestions you will see the bigger picture in almost every situation.  Your world will be open to new ideas and possibilities because you will be curious

It takes a curious mind to have the capability to look beyond the normality of life and see things hidden underneath the surface.  These are worlds and possibilities that you can make happen.  You can have total control of your curious mind.

Excitement
If you are bored with your life you are most likely not curious at all.  Curiosity builds excitement in your life because you want to see things in new and exciting ways. There will always be new things that attract your attention and an abundance of toys and gadgets that you enjoy too.

When you are curious you are adventurous and it is so much fun to add adventure to your life.  This doesn’t mean you need to go on an African safari.  It means you need to look around you and see the things that are going on a little more than you normally do.  Do a little research and find out why things tick.  Be curious and open to new things rather than having the same boring routine every single day.
