Canadian Senior Discount Guide: The Ultimate List

I think we should take advantage of every discount offered to us. I have talked about senior discounts in other posts, but I have found a great resource for Canadian seniors that I recommend they use to find discounts.

The Dealhack Canadian Senior Discounts List is the result of our quarterly survey of brands that offer seniors discounts. Every 3 months, our team independently verifies each and every discount on this list. We also add more brands to the list regularly when we come across them.
The list currently includes more than 50 brands conveniently broken down into 7 categories (and further by age groups within each category).
The online version of the guide can be viewed at:

From bus fare to movie tickets, senior citizens are discount-eligible almost everywhere in Canada. Make the most out of your benefits by running through this list of stores and brands that offer special discounts for individuals age 50 and above.

Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP) membership - CARP is an exclusive association for Canadians age 50 and above. With an annual fee of $19.95, CARP members gain access to great benefits which includes discounts in many different stores, hotels, and etc. Discounts requiring CARP membership will be indicated in the pdf.

If you want a discount here are some general guidelines.

Always ask: Senior’s discounts are not always openly advertised. It is recommended that you ask about whether or not the store offers a discount every time you make a purchase.

Be prepared: Always have a government-issued identification card with you that provides proof of senior status, such as your passport, driver's licence, provincial health card, or Old Age Status (OAS) card.

We wanted to make it easier for you to determine your eligibility. That is why this Canadian Seniors Discount Guide is organized by the following age categories: age not specified, 50 and older, 55 and older, 60 and older, 62 and older, and 65 and older.
