Do you know what they all have in common?

You know, the billions and billions who came before you, who used to live in the jungles of time and space.

Their adventure is over.

You know what else?

Given another chance, they'd take more risks. Not because they'd always succeed, but because from where they are now, the glory of knowing they at least tried far exceeds any regrets of never knowing what might have been.

At the end don't regret not taking risks

This is from Patrick. There are a million different ways to measure success.

For most people, the concept of “success” is about how close or far you are from achieving a certain goal.
How close am I to losing that extra weight?
How close am I to paying off that credit card?
How close am I to landing a new job?
How close am I to ...?

This morning, I want to remind you that I have a much different measure of success. A much simpler one, yet one that all of us take for granted.

That’s it!

If you woke up this morning, drew a breath and opened your eyes… CONGRATULATIONS you were given the gift of another day of life!  And if you think about it you’ll remember that NO ONE owed you another day of life and no one can guarantee that you’ll get another one tomorrow.  So I’d say that makes today pretty successful already!

Little is more impressive, inspirational, or sexy than watching someone in the throes of action, driven by purpose, oblivious to all but their aim.

Remember your Food Bank

Hunger does not stop because it is summer. In fact, for many families, it is worse than other times of the year. Many children rely on school programs for breakfast or for lunch. With schools closed for the summer, these programs do not operate, and children may go hungry. Every community has its own Food Bank and every one of these needs us to remember them in the summer and to donate--money or food, or time. As the heat of summer starts to build, remember your neighbours and give to your local Food Bank.
