Happy birthday to my daughter

Being away from loved ones on special occasions is like trying to drink a milkshake without a straw - it’s hard and just not the same. Today, my daughter’s birthday is here in Canada, but it was yesterday where she lives. It’s confusing, and I’m sure time zones were invented just to mess with us.

I wanted to say “home,” but let’s be real - where her mom and I live is just a place where we keep some of her stuff. Her real home is wherever her heart is, which is probably with her friends, son, partner, and cat live.

I hope her birthday was fantastic, with tons of cake and love from her Aussie family. It feels like we haven’t seen each other in ages, and her mom and I miss her like crazy. When she comes here in December, we’ll have some serious catching up to do - one birthdays and two Christmases worth!

Honestly, we’re all looking forward to it so much that we might just have to wear party hats when we pick her up at the airport. Finally, I can’t wait to give her a big, squishy hug!

Happy Birthday

We met over 50 years ago, and over time we have spent some good times and some sad times together. Because of you and your influence, I have, over time, become a better version of myself, than I would have been on my own. I owe you my life and my love. Happy Birthday and my wish is for many more with you.

Happy Birthday on this special day

Happy Birthday to a lady who continues to fill my life with joy. Here are some thoughts to show how I feel

You are just the right age to be a really cool senior citizen.

If I could go back in time, I'd buy your birthday gift the year you were born. It would have been much less expensive then.

Don't worry if your youth seems to be escaping you at your age, you can't expect to catch our grandson all the time.

To be this young is sometimes far more cheerful and hopeful than to be forty years old!

Dance as if nobody is watching,

Love as if you’ve never been hurt,

Live as if there’s no tomorrow

Like a fine vintage wine or a vintage car,
your value increases over the years
Thank you for being a treasure in my life

Happy birthday

Happy birthday to a wonderful lady, who brightens the room when she walks in and who creates a sense of joy within me. Here are some sonnets from Shakespeare to show my feelings

“Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And too often is his gold complexion dimm'd:
And every fair from fair sometimes declines,
By chance or natures changing course untrimm'd;
By thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.”
―
William ShakespeareShakespeare's Sonnets

“Not marble nor the gilded monuments
Of princes, shall outlive this powerful rhyme,
But you shall shine more bright in these contents
Than unswept stone, besmeared with sluttish time.
When wasteful war shall statues overturn
And broils roots out the work of masonry,
Nor mars his sword nor war's quick fire shall burn
The living record of your memory.
'Gainst death and all-oblivious enmity
Shall you pace forth; your praise shall still find room
Even in the eyes of all posterity
That wear this world out to the ending doom.
So, till judgement that yourself arise,
You in this, and dwell in lovers eyes.”

 In Praise of Beauty
Of all my loves this is the first and last
That in the autumn of my years has grown,
A secret fern, a violet in the grass,
A final leaf where all the rest are gone.
Would that I could give all and more, my life,
My world, my thoughts, my arms, my breath, my future,
My love eternal, endless, infinite, yet brief,
As all loves are and hopes, though they endure.
You are my sun and stars, my night, my day,
My seasons, summer, winter, my sweet spring,
My autumn song, the church in which I pray,
My land and ocean, all that the earth can bring Of glory and of sustenance, all that might be divine,
My alpha and my omega, and all that was ever mine.

A birthday wish

We've been together a long time, and I when we are apart, I still think of you. You still cause me to lose my breath when I see you again.

We have experienced many of live's joys and heart aches and have grown stronger because of the experiences we have shared.

Enjoy your day, I am thinking of you and I wish you the best as the best is yet to come. On this your special day, be treated like royalty and bask in the joy of life and know you are loved.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Ryder

This post wishes my grandson a happy birthday on his second birthday. He gets to celebrate two birthdays, the first  in Australia where he was born, and one day later we can celebrate with him in Canada. So he gets to celebrate two birthdays, one as a Canadian and one as an Australian.

Ryder, how time fly's,  two years ago you were so small, and so fragile

Today you turn two and are a growing up to be a fine young man, with many friends and many adventures for you to have and many experiences to enjoy. Life is good.

Even though Grandma and I cannot be with you today, we are thinking of you and love you and we will see you in November and look forward to spending Christmas with you.

Be safe, know you are loved and as you continue to grow in body, and mind, I know  your spirit of adventure and love of life is growing as well.
